Sailing the Balearics

We’re on the move! A 5am start from Valencia across to Formentera – 12hours and 45 minutes to our anchorage off the beach – really beautiful spot with warm, clear blue waters. Gorgeous for our early eve swim! Sadly, no wind so on the engine all day. Wednesday saw Jane and me in the tender to explore the port before we sailed off to Ibiza mid afternoon. Lovely breeze so a super sail.

Stunning sun rise as we sailed away from Valencia
G&T time!

Less positively, we discovered that our generator was overheating … there’s always something! Still – engineers are booked in at Palma so hoping they will be able to fix stuff.

Our Ibiza stay was brief – memorable Italian restaurant the day before 10pm curfew adopted – just in time! We headed off at 6am to Palma, Mallorca. Great wind so good sailing but lots of rolling with wind behind us. Unfortunately, Jane had left her cabin hatch open ‘just a crack’ – the pantomime of soaking wet bedding to deal with!!
