… and so to Lake Titicaca …

One more shot of the awesome scenery from the rail journey across to Puno … it was so special. The observatory car enabled us to see the scenery in the open air; I learnt how to make Pisco Sour cocktails in the bar and listened to some great live Andean music at the same time – a real highlight!

It was up at 6am and of to explore the lake … 3 different islands (and there are many more). First off, the island of Uros – housing 5 families on a small island built from reeds.

Then off to Tacquille Island – very like some of the more remote Greek Islands. Beautiful, unspoilt and peaceful. The light is amazing at 12500 feet – almost translucent. Quite a walk – leg definitely feeling the strain but so worthwhile!!
